Shrub and bush trimming

Overgrown shrubs crowd walkways, cover windows, and rub against siding. We trim for shape and clearance so the house and the plants both look better.

Timing depends on the plant. Spring-flowering shrubs like azaleas are best trimmed soon after they bloom so you do not cut off next year's flowers. Many evergreen shrubs can be shaped in late winter or after their new growth hardens. We will talk through what you have.

Mulch that looks right and does its job

Fresh mulch makes beds look finished, holds moisture, and slows weeds. A depth of about two to three inches is usually plenty. More than that can hold too much moisture, and mulch piled against trunks or siding causes problems.

We refresh existing beds, edge them so the line between bed and lawn stays crisp, and clean up so the driveway and walkways are left clear.

New beds, reshaped beds, and seasonal planting

If your beds have lost their shape or you want new ones, we can lay them out, cut clean edges, add soil where it is needed, and plant flowers or seasonal color. Tell us the look you want and we will talk through what works for your yard.

FAQ

Common questions about shrubs, flower beds & mulch

How thick should mulch be?

About two to three inches is usually right for most beds. Keep mulch pulled back from tree trunks, shrub stems, and siding.

When should shrubs be trimmed?

It depends on the shrub. Spring-flowering shrubs like azaleas are best trimmed right after they bloom. Many evergreen shrubs can be shaped in late winter or after new growth hardens.

Can you reshape flower beds I already have?

Yes. Flower-bed creation and reshaping is one of our services, including new edges, soil, mulch, and planting.
